October JAAL
Hi,
I have just started this blog so I can post information about ministries that I am involved with. So please be kind I am just getting the hang of this. My first reason to do this is to post a video I have taken and want to send to all those people who have prayed for me during the month of October.
Later I will hopefully use this blog as well for an information site regarding SHUM (Surry Hills Urban Mission. However I am not yet adept at using this so please allow me some grace.
In October as part of the Jesus All About life campaign the Pastor from Edward Eager Lodge (around the corner from CPC on Bourke St) and I decided to bring our groups together and put a programme together which would last from Thursday 1pm into evening. We did this to cross promote our groups with each other so that they would have another opportunity in the week to have fellowship and learn more about Jesus.
The programme began at 1pm with the usual lunch and Bible discussion I run at CPC (Chinese Presbyterian Church) each Thursday. Later at 3pm we moved to Edward Eager Lodge for afternoon tea and games (scrabble, cards etc), then dinner at 5pm. At 6pm we started another programme where we had some singing and showed a very short Christian DVD (10 minutes). After this we had discussion on the DVD.
Each week 12-17 people came for the lunchtime Bible discussion and 20+ people attended the evening programme. Fortunately I was able to acquire help from people I knew from other Churches to help. Thanks to those people by the way.
We did this every Thursday in October. For those of you who prayed for us thank you. God was extremely gracious and we had the opportunity as always to share the gospel with people in conversation and Bible discussion.
Our group on Thursdays continues to meet at 1pm for Bible discussion at CPC and all are welcome. Please pray that God continues to work in each person and grow the group as He sees fit.
If you have any comments please email me and I would always appreciate your continued prayer support
Thanks
Michael
